Live Each Day as a Child Would

I have started to look at life through new eyes after such a trying time with serious illness over the last five years.

After enjoying the way my grandson sees the world at the age of one year. I am determined to try to see each day the way he does; each day is a new start, a new adventure. He strives to learn new things; they can be small or large; they are all vastly important.

I may not have his energy (God knows I wish I could bottle it) but that does not matter. Each task can be a new learning experience or determined effort to accomplish.

Many days we as adults can get burnt out out trying to live at the fast pace we set for our selves. We may be in the workplace or running a household as the chief, accountant, chauffer as well as the uncountable other things we do to keep a smooth family going.

Try to remember the gifts our children show us.

Fun Cinco de Mayo With The Family

Our Family Sunday Supper was so much fun. We had a Cinco de Mayo theme.

We feasted on Mexican American foods including: soft and crunchy tacos with a filling buffet. Home-made beef empanadas. Corn and multi-grain chips with a variety of home-made dips including salsa, guacamole, casa fresco cheese. Our desserts were fresh fruit, banana pudding, and chocolate mousse.

Thank You to all my family that helped make this delicious feast.

New Challenges Went Good

Yesterday I challenged myself farther than I have in a long time.

I was needed in holding Bevis Goat to try to get her smallest triplet Baby Charlie to be able to nurse. She is a strong, large, red Boar goat. Baby Charlie is small and weak – but is trying.

Then I helped paint the remaining bee hives parts so they are ready to place in the apiary.

Today they are planting in the garden – but I am truly too tired to want to help much.

Tomorrow will be busy with our Kentucky Derby Social. Then Sunday with Family Supper – celebrating Cinco de Mayo. So resting today is a good idea – plus there may be more baby goats coming. Three more Momma goats still pregnant.

Improving One Step At A Time

I know learning to live with FHM2 is going to be a daily challenge – one that has to be a change in lifestyles similar to living with my insulin dependent diabetes for the last 34 years.

I have split my meals into six small meals spaced throughout the day instead of three larger meals. I have also been staying out of flourescent lights without eye protection. The new medication combination is working to stop the seizures and my headaches are manageable with the new pain medication.

Last night I got to take a full shower instead of sponge bath at the sink, surprising the independence that can make you feel.

Worked this morning helping Keith put beehives together. It was fun to be able to take part and feel good.
